Who knows what happened here. We removed water stains, small tears, and took care of whatever it was that decided to splotch itself all over the picture.
This photo was first cleaned up, converted to black and white, and the brightness levels corrected. The restoration could have stopped there, but just for show, we've added a nice color tinting.
Photographs taken at dusk are often dark, and details are hard to make out. The colors are in there, but just need a little encouragement to show themselves. On this photo, we also removed scratches, dust, and fingerprints... and then we removed the guy so rudely blocking the view.
This photograph was an 11x14 taken in the mid 1960s. Since then its been folded, creased, taped, torn, written on, and left to collect dust. Luckily we were around to rescue this poor, abused portrait, and restore it to its original glory.
Is he blushing? Or was it just a poor developing job? Who knows. We corrected the skin tones, cleaned off a ton of dust, and added a wine tint to the background just for looks.
He must be writing a nasty letter to the developer for overexposing this print.
We fixed that and removed a few minor scratches and smudges.
