Q.
There are so many other photo restoration
companies on the net and in my town. Why should I choose Artisan
Studios for my pictures?
A.
There are other companies that perform similar photo restorations.
Some of these are even less expensive than Artisan. We are confident,
however, that our restorations are of the
highest quality you can find, regardless of price. For
starters, we perform our work at a higher resolution than most other
photo restoration houses. In fact, our prints, on average, have
33% more detail (more dots per
inch) than other companies'. Not to mention the quality of the work,
which you can preview on our gallery page. We create all of our
prints in a professional photo lab, not in a drug store or on a
home printer with "ink-jet photo paper." Your memories deserve better.
Photo restoration is our business.
Our success as a studio depends on you being happy with the finished
product. We will not charge you a dime until you have seen proofs
of our work and are completely satisfied
with the results.

Q.
How do I get my photos to you? Do I have to mail them?
A.
Mailing your photographs is not necessary. In fact, it's usually
a safer bet to have your photos scanned and sent to us digitally.
Many photo developers, public libraries, and copy centers such as
Kinkos will scan your photos for a small fee. You can then e-mail them,
upload them to our site, or ship us a disk or photo CD-R.
If you choose to send the originals by mail, please please please
ensure that they are packaged well. We will scan your photographs as
soon as we receive them and ship them right back in the same packaging.
Please note that we cannot be responsible for photos lost or damaged
in shipping.

Q.
If I choose to scan my photographs, what format do I need to send them in?
A.
For the best results, please send them in uncompressed
JPG format at 400dpi,
RGB
color (even for black & white photos!), and 100% size.

Q.
What else can I do to ensure the best quality end result?
A.
Please provide us with as much information
as possible regarding the photo. Depending on the service
you wish to have performed, this may include what objects are missing
from torn sections, whether or not certain marks are intentional,
if you want blemishes removed, if you want sepia toning or other
tints, any objects or people you want removed, background changes,
colors of objects for photos being colorized, etc. The more you
can tell us about a photograph and what you want done, the better.

Q.
Do I get to see proofs before I pay for your services?
A.
Yes, we will build you a Web page showing
low-resolution versions of your proofs. Hard copy proofs are available
by mail for $2.00
($0.50 for each additional picture). These are printed on 4 x 6
paper and contain a "Sample" watermark. If you are unsatisfied with
any of the work, let us know, and we will gladly make corrections.

your pictures however you wish.

Q.
What will I receive after your services?
A. After you have seen your proofs and have approved the final result, you will receive professional prints of all your photos on high-quality photographic paper at as close to the original size and shape as possible.
Of course, you may order as many prints as you would like in
addition to those already included. See the prices
page for details.
